We are recruiting Electrical Senior Maintenance Technicians for Rail for London Infrastructure.

Elizabeth Line is the new high frequency, high-capacity railway for London and the Southeast, carrying Passengers between Reading and Heathrow in the West to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the East via a network of tunnels under Central London.

Rail for London Infrastructure (RfL-I), a TfL (Transport for London) subsidiary, is Infrastructure Manager (IM) for the central operating section between Paddington, Abbey Wood, and Stratford. This means for the first time in the Organisations history, TfL are operating trains on the UK (United Kingdom) mainline railway. This exciting challenge requires highly skilled Maintenance Technicians to maintain the digital railway.

Purpose
The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for the delivery of safety of line inspections, asset monitoring, maintenance, like for like renewal and enhancements works. This will include asset fault response, infrastructure inspection, asset data management and the safe delivery of reliability centred maintenance tasks.

The Senior Maintenance Technician will assist the Principal Maintenance Technician (team leader) to deliver Planned and Reactive Maintenance on-time, helping to maintain compliance and asset performance in terms of Reliability and Availability.

Key Accountabilities

1. Delivery and execution of Infrastructure maintenance works, renewals works and supervision of contracted labour services. This includes completion of infrastructure inspections, self-assurance checks and quality checks.

2. Being part of fault response teams and the delivery of maintenance tasks as defined by the Asset Steward, complying with defined British, TfL and Network Rail standards, processes, procedures, and performance to be delivered.

3. Deliver maintenance deployment planning with operations colleagues, ensuring that the operational requirements align with the maintenance engineering asset management requirements and deliver a compliant, safe, operable, and maintainable railway including the undertaking of on-call duties.

4. Ensure Infrastructure and Asset maintenance standards are met by applying established policies and procedures.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Knowledge

Essential

  • Specialist knowledge of Building Services and public health systems with a strong mechanical and Electrical maintenance background.
  • Electrical Maintenance Technician requirements are Minimum of Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electro technical Services (Electrical Maintenance) (2357-23) or equivalent.
  • Level 3 Award in Electrical Wiring Regulations BS7671:2018.

Or

  • JIB Graded Approved Electrician in Installation and/or Maintenance.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of railway systems and related engineering disciplines.
  • Familiar with functions of plant room control panels.
  • Appreciation of Reliability Based Maintenance/Condition Based Maintenance.
  • Undertake Installation, Maintenance, Modification and Repair of Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Undertake Installation, Maintenance, Modification and Repair of User Control and Network Devices subsystems (DALI).
  • Undertake Installation, Maintenance, Modification and Repair of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
  • Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (2391-52).
  • Level 3 Certificate for the Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (2377-12).
