Overview:
The purpose of this role is to deliver Genny and CAT Scan, GPR and buried service awareness across company projects to support safe digging procedure for service avoidance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Training in the application and use of CAT scan and GPR initially including the interpretation of survey information into a project report.
Followed by roll out of GPR on our construction sites to work with sites teams across the Southern region.
Responsible for recommending appropriate GPR methodologies based on the project requirements and advising project teams on GPR and CAT scan deliverables.
Collating a portfolio of information around the successful application of service identification techniques that will be used to further promote capability across project teams.
Provide GPR survey and site finding (buried services) reports to project teams within a timely manner following the GPR survey.
Import survey models into CAD for issue to project teams (training will be provided).
Develop the GPR capability and during project activities look for opportunities in further application of the GPR equipment.
Verification of buried service information on site and marking up of identified services.
Recording of as-fitted detail using GPR equipment where applicable.
Support Front Line teams at point of work in the act of utility location & avoidance and be able to coach and complete a documented assessment on their knowledge and experience.
Analyse equipment use (Genny and CAT, GPR) data and where improvement is necessary, liaise with the local HSEQ Team for further advice and support.
Training in the use of Trimble, Total Station equipment and 3D scanning equipment, deployment to site for site setting out, establishing control and / or control verification following training.
Assisting sites with survey equipment and suitable application of survey equipment.
Providing technical support for site engineers on the use of the above.

Skills and Qualifications:
HNC/HND or degree in Civil engineering or equivalent.
Good understanding in the application of CAT and Genny.
Good understanding of ground types and makeup.
Good understanding of how to conduct a utility survey pre-excavation.
Good Knowledge of Temporary Works.
Knowledge of risk assessment.
Awareness of CDM Regs and other safety legislation.
Strength of Character and Integrity to maintain high levels of Quality and Assurance.
Experience of working in a Civils operations environment.
Experience of delivering Civil Engineering Projects.
Desirable:
CAD experience.
Commercial Awareness / Responsibilities.
Entry Into Service (EIS) Procedure.
Good understanding of 3D Total Station and Leica GPS.
Knowledge of Surveying.
Awareness of commercial aspects of design and delivery.
Awareness of project planning.
Understand the risks related to utility strikes & HSG47.
