Rate: £16.10 per Hour

Shift work - Nights 11.25 hour days

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Carry out service and train preparation of the class 185 fleet - Fuelling of the units, Check fluid levels(Coolant, Oil), CET - tanking and operation of Controlled Emission Toilet, Unit inspection - checks, Train Prep ensuring unit is safe to enter passenger service.
• With minimal supervision, undertake maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan maintenance in accordance with the Siemens Rolling Stock VMI.
• Carry out Component repair following
• Assist with cleaning of rolling stock when required

Knowledge and experience

• Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles.
• Understands and cares for tools, equipment and PPE as appropriate.
• Basic knowledge of IT systems.
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures.
• Understanding of train safety related systems.
• Understanding of the requirements of the operational railway.
• Understanding of Health and Safety regulations including bio-hazards, Control of Substances. Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and manual handling.

PPE Will be provided when needed on site
