Technician
Location: Crown Point Depot, Norwich
Crown Point Depot Engineering Team requires two highly motivated Technicians to work on a shfit basis (days and nights) on a rolling roster pattern balanced at 35 hours per week. They will be employed on railway rolling stock in a very busy, team based Engineering environment.
Purpose of the Job is to undertake the maintenance and repair of rolling stock to a high standard of safety and quality both on and off depot as required.
Key Accountabilities of the role:
• Safety Critical maintenance within competence profile as instructed by SPM/SDM/ECM
• Other maintenance on stock within competence profile as instructed
• Maintenance and repair work in accordance with Vehicle Maintenance Instructions and associated documentation
• Carrying out Fleet Checks from time to time as directed and in accordance with VMI or documented process
• Carrying out fleet Modification from time to time as directed and in accordance with documented procedure
• Responsible for reporting defective plant and equipment in use
• Responsible for working to EAW and HASAWA regulations
• Responsible for producing accurate and complete paper maintenance records.
• Where trained to keep accurate and timely creation/update of management systems relating to relevant production process and events occurring.
• Generally contributing as required to the continual improvement and development of the production process.
• Ensure the work place they have been working in is left at a suitable standard and to local requirements.
• Comply with the requirements for this position as detailed in other company documents e.g. Safety Manual, Quality Manual etc.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications Required for the role:
• As a minimum have achieved NVQ level 3, equivalent City and Guilds or recognised apprenticeship.
• A working knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to the Railway and the workplace.
• A background in railway rolling stock maintenance and operations.
• Having the aptitude and interpersonal skills in order to foster effective team working. Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
