The Central Rail Systems Alliance is formed by partners Network Rail, Balfour Beatty, Atkins and TSO. The CRSA is responsible for the delivery of multi-disciplinary railway upgrade projects on the North West & Central and Eastern regions of Network Rail’s recently devolved routes. The programme of works delivered by the teams is valued at £2bn and manages the development, design and delivery of Switches and Crossings and Plain Line renewals as its core business but is also responsible for the delivery of major enhancement projects.
We are looking to recruit Project Engineers (Assurance Engineers) as defined in NR/L2/RSE/02009 issue 7 MOD1, for all major disciplines to join our team delivering Multi-Million rail Core and Enhancement projects and programmes based either in the Eastern or North West & Central Regions. You will manage the use of appropriate engineering standards in relation to design and construction, on all projects within our portfolio with the additional flexibility of being able to design and check too.
Responsibilities include:
- Implement procedures to deliver a cost effective, high quality and safe design, construction and commissioning to our projects.
- Ensure our projects comply with the appropriate Railway Group and Network Rail standards applicable including construction design management (CDM) regulations.
- Validate all parts of the engineering lifecycle including design, construction activities, testing and commissioning, and site supervision.
- Ensure the quality of design, construction testing and commissioning and management systems are appropriate.
Required:
- Significant experience in engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi discipline areas.
- Technical qualifications to at least HND level or equivalent.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution.
- Knowledge of safety management and quality assurance.
- Understanding of the arrangement required for the independent assessment of works.
