PACE – Civils Engineer

Your role, and what you will be doing:

The Civils Engineer role covers the responsibility for the engineering assurance and delivery of a portfolio of civils projects on behalf of PACE for our clients. You will support the delivery of these projects with the Construction/Project managers and construction CRE’s to provide excellence in quality control & engineering assurance for all works carried out, achieving the customer's satisfaction.

What will be your main Responsibilities?

  • Supporting the project team with all quality and assurance documentation
  • Preparation and check of technical assessment/design remits, calculations, reports, and drawings, which are technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements.
  • Producing bill of quantities from scope and designs documents
  • Supporting the CRE (Contractor’s Responsible Engineer)
  • Conduct site inspections to maintain quality standards in deliver
  • Supporting site team to conduct inspection for assessments and inspection/examination of assets, providing on-site technical leadership, where required.
  • Maintaining knowledge of industry best practice and where appropriate applying best practice and independent engineering judgement within the team environment.
  • Setting out duties off the approved for construction designs and setting out data
  • Producing quality plans, Inspection test plans & verification of inspections documentation
  • Producing Site Documentation / Paperwork
  • Supporting the CRE by Producing redlines for as-built’s as required.
  • Supporting the CRE by completing entry into service documentation as required.
  • Supporting the project team with commercial opportunities in scope gaps and additional works
  • Attend regular meetings with your PM/CRE/CEM, to review issues, sharing lessons learnt, best practice, resource sharing etc
  • Support the bidding team in the development of proposals & tenders
  • Develop excellent relationships with the company, sub-contractors, partners, and clients

Each Candidate needs a minimum:

(PTS) personal Track Safety

A minimum 2 years Setting Out experience

High level communication skills, with the ability to successfully work within team

relevant experience including leadership of the development and implementation of engineering solutions.

Preferred:

CAD experience (not essential)

Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer (CEng / IEng through ICE, CIHT or IStructE), or actively working towards professional qualification.

Full UK Driving Licence & own vehicle
