Railway Structures Engineer
Location: London (2 days a week in office)

Pay Rate: £388.10 PAYE Umbrella £519.68
Contract Length: 6 months
Multiple vacancies in one of the following programmes:
- 4LM Critical Infrastructure Delivery (CID)
- Piccadilly Line Upgrade (PLU)
- Asset Capitals Portfolio - Structures
- Bridges & Structures
You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the safety, functionality or compliance of high risk newly implemented or altered assets, engineering processes, procedures or systems
- Leading the development and implementation of high complexity engineering solutions within their stated discipline or functional specialism, through the provision of subject matter expertise or management / coordination multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Providing internal and external senior stakeholders with appropriate challenge and professional advice to ensure the development or delivery of high quality, tested engineering solutions
- Making authoritative technical recommendations which have a high impact on organisational performance in both the short and longer term
- Evaluating, selecting and applying appropriate solutions to high risk/value/complexity engineering problems that improve efficiency or effectiveness, while improving safety and reducing operating costs
Essential Requirements:
- The candidate must have at least 3 years of relevant structural design and structural assessment experience
- Experience in the Rail sector
- Chartered Engineer either from ICE or IStructE or equivalent
- Civil/Structural Engineering designer and assessment engineer able to prepare designs, check drawings & write, review and accept civil engineering scopes for designers and contractors with minimal supervision.
- Co-ordination of multi-disciplines requirements with the development of civil engineering solutions.
- Regeneration of railway properties and refurbishment of buildings
- Hands-on surveys and using design and technical standards Eurocodes / BS standards
