The Opportunity

Our journey to delivering award winning projects has led us to become an industry leader in Rail Design Consultancy, with a high performing team of 550 talented staff in 12 Rail Design offices across the UK. Building on our success creates opportunity, and we would like to hear from suitably qualified and experienced Senior Civil Engineers who are ready to take this opportunity and bring their career to the next level.

Here's what you’ll be doing

• Planning surveys and leading site survey teams to undertake CDM/CSM/risk analyses
• Managing the Civil and Structural design for small projects, checking designs to ensure all contractual requirements have been satisfied to a level that complies with NR, RSSB and British standards
• Communicating effectively with the client and other design/construction disciplines and sub-contractors, providing resource estimates for civil engineering input to tenders
• Developing and mentoring graduate and engineers towards UK Spec IEng/CEng
• Acting as a CRE and deputising for the CEM where appropriate
• Assisting with the close out DRN's for schemes they are responsible for
• Acting as delivery manager for small schemes, ensuring hours spent are in line with the estimated hours and advising the project team of any predicted or know changes.

Here’s what we’ll be looking for

• CEng / IEng status (or equivalent), plus 3 years post qualification experience in a relevant engineering area, or MEng/BEng (or equivalent) degree and significant relevant experience, confirmed using the authority to work process
• Being able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the design process, network rail’s technical approvals process, and engineering management
• A solid working knowledge of BIM and the anbility to assist others in the use of BIM
• The ability to undertake design work for Civil and Structural Design elements of projects, and to check the work of others using the design software in the discipline e.g. AutoCAD and Microstation
