We are a multi-disciplined contractor with a service portfolio that covers track, trades, civils, OLE, signalling and telecoms along with trackside lighting and safety barrier fencing.
In this respect we are a forward-thinking business that has the ability to undertake large scale contract works delivering a variety of services such as structures, track drainage, earthworks and lineside infrastructure works under one umbrella.
We have established a network of offices across the whole of the UK where we pro-actively recruit from within the local community to fully support our clients on a National Basis.
Purpose of Role;
- Day-to-day engineering management and co-ordination of the technical and engineering activities related to Civil engineering for all aspects of PC involvement on Crewe Programme.
- To provide support to the PC CEM.
- Ensure the PC and Project’s compliance with current legislation, PC management plans, Crewe Programme SEMP, and the requirements of Network Rail standards.
- Ensure that CRE duties are discharged in compliance with the relevant issue of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/RSE/02009.
- Ensure persons involved in works affecting engineering compliance are competent to undertake their duties.
- Act as the technical lead for construction engineering by the PC team for the Civils discipline.
- Undertaking assurance, inspections, monitoring, and co-ordination of the PC and the Project’s works.
General Responsibilities;
- Assist the PC CEM with monitoring and assurance of Project’s competence systems.
- When delegated by the PC CEM - confirm through review the suitability of and approve Work Package Plans in line with their discipline competence.
- Identify and produce Inspection & Test Plans and Quality Control Sheet documentation (as applicable) for civils works by the PC.
- Produce and manage a process for the above ensuring that all documentation is returned and CRE endorsed in a timely manner.
- Monitor and assure AMP and H&S file progress by the Projects.
- Be accountable for confirming that civils works done by the PC have been constructed to the required design and relevant standards.
- Identify and report non-conforming products to PC CEM and produce non-conformance reports identifying corrective actions.
- Produce, review and/or endorse (as required) discipline specific RFI’s, TQ’s and Site Design Queries.
- Identify any deviations from any standards (e.g. Network Rail Standards) and submit applications for deviations where appropriate, for works by the PC.
- Be responsible for managing within their discipline the interface between design, installation, test and commissioning activities, for works by the PC.
- Organise and undertake briefings to the PC team for any change in engineering standards or process within their discipline, recording the briefing and returning evidence of the briefing, with any comments to the PC CEM.
- Accept and approve discipline related Task Briefings.
- Attend Interdisciplinary Check (IDC) and Design Development Review (DDR) meetings as required and close out any issues or concerns allocated to the PC team.
- Manage and close out any actions related to Asset Management Plans for the PC team’s direct works.
- Assure the AMP and H&S files efforts by the Projects.
- Support the CEM in the discharge of their role duties including Construction Design Management (CDM) compliance and the clients Common Safety Method Risk Assessment (CSM-RA) and Hazard Log.
