Our client now has an opening in their Civils team for a Senior Project Engineer. Ideally, you will be based in Doncaster but you can be considered for either of the offices in York, Manchester or Birmingham. This is a long-term permanent position.

Your job will be to manage the successful application of Temporary Works processes to rail civil infrastructure constructions.

Principal responsibilities:

• Implementing the planning, design and delivery of temporary works solutions
• Support both pricing and evaluating of subcontract construction works packages from both a temporary works perspective and the wider civil engineering deliverables.
• Preparation of quality reporting documents and other KPIs suitable for issue to Clients.
• Actively contributing to forecasting mechanisms, as well as proactively managing delivery reporting and re-forecasting where change occurs.
• Proactive attitude towards recognising and addressing project issues, risks and opportunities.
• Having a full understanding of commercial aspects of the project and ensuring appropriate cost control measures.

Key skills/experience required:

• Temporary works coordinator experience in the rail sector.
• Experienced in the construction of substructure solutions in a railway environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to get reasoning across to the wider team. Also able to adjust approach where needed.
• Safety critical position (PTS) – good, practical health and safety awareness.
• Prior experience in the role of construction CRE is desirable

Qualifications:

• A degree or HND in civil engineering.
• Chartered membership of the Institute of Civil or Structural Engineers.
