The Role
We are looking to appoint a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Piling & Ground Investigations business.
Key accountabilities
Reporting to the Civil Engineer key duties include:
- Preparation of material quantity take-offs, estimates and surveys based upon site visits & reviewing Construction drawings.
- Assisting in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase.
- Under the guidance of the Snr Engineers and managers, assist in reviewing supplier drawing submittals, specifications, and technical bid analysis.
- Assisting in the preparation of specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents and methodologies.
- Provide input to CAD Designers working on the same project.
- Undertake setting out on-site and assist the Snr engineer, Construction Manager & Piling Supervisors in delivering site piling and Ground Investigation works within the team.
- Undertaking surveys.
- Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly on-site.
- Ensuring project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets and/or timescales.
- Record site details, pile as-built data and red line drawings.
- Preparing site reports and filling in other construction paperwork.
- Continuous development towards managing parts of construction projects.
Job requirements
You will ideally have the following experience and qualities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 0-3yrs work experience.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Basic understanding and operation using CAD or MicroStation.
- PTS / CSCS desirable but not essential.
- Sound mathematical, scientific and IT skills.
- The ability to think methodically.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines while continuing to uphold a high regard and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commercial Awareness & understanding.
- Technical skills.
- Strong work ethic and desire to develop

Site based - travelling around the UK
Other
Working hours: 39 hours Monday - Friday. Weekend working required
