Planner / Senior Planner (P6)

Salary / Package: £45000 - £67,000 dependant on level of experience plus

Summary

A firmly established, engineering contractor operating nationally in rail, civils and engineering markets are looking to hire a P6 Planner or a Senior Planner to join an established and growing business unit based in Scotland, involved in a range of multi-disciplinary rail infrastructure projects from tender stage through to project delivery.

The Role

As P6 Planner/Senior P6 Planner, you will be reporting to the Principal Planner for the Scotland region and will be accountable for developing and maintaining detailed and integrated project programmes using Primavera P6. Day to day responsibilities include:

- To supply any planning outputs required and advise the client where these impact on works by others.
- Assist in the management of change in regards to impact on programme and progress.
- Advise on factors affecting the programme and provide appropriate mitigation in conjunction with the project and Client team.
- Provide the planning service for project procurement, including monthly review of the Procurement schedule and enquiry programmes for Subcontracts.
- Ensure that the delivery team understand the requirements of the programme including regular reviews with the Project team.
- Input progress into the programme to produce the four weekly progress reports, including programme activity variance against the Baseline and previous report, SPI, CPI and Earned Value curves.
- Integral part of the project team and should be flexible in their working approach,
- Site visit required for updates and face to face meetings at relevant offices.
- Check and monitor site progress

To excel in this role, you will have

- Previous experience as a P6 Planner / Senior Planner in a rail and civil engineering environment.
- P6 Primavera experience
- Civil engineering project experience
- Rail experience
- Experience in a site based role (prior to your planning career) with understanding and appreciation for construction activities, timescales, and project requirements in order to effectively build and update accurate programmes for live projects.
