Principal Civil/ Structural Engineer in Croydon, Croydon, United Kingdom
AECOM is currently recruiting for Principal Engineer to join us at Associate Director grade in Rail at the Croydon office covering civil and structural projects. AECOM is one of the world’s leading engineering and environmental consultants, offering professional planning, engineering and architectural design, environmental, construction and programme and construction management services throughout the UK and internationally.
The Croydon Rail team requires a Civil and Structural lead for the Rail team to assist the Regional manager. The Associate Director/ Principal Engineer would work with the Regional manager and other office leaders in the Rail team to deliver projects and build client relationships. A selection of our current and recent projects includes:
- HS2 Phase 2B
- S&C Trackworks Alliance
- Beckton Depot Detailed Design Upgrade
- Light Rail ProjectsA5-M1 link dual carriageway upgrade
- CAFA rail bridge inspection and assessment. Long term commission with bridge sites located on the LNW lines
Minimum Requirements
- The role will suit a self-motivated individual looking to lead teams and to advance their career in Civil engineering and project management in a dynamic rail team of around 80 engineers and technicians.
- Proven project management experience delivering to quality, time and budget.
- Previous exposure with clients of both national and local authorities, together with major contractors.
- Previous experience of resource planning and financial reporting is preferre
- High level technical skills in design, assessment and current inspection.
- Ability to manage staff and project Health and Safety responsibilities including compliance with CDM legislation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Ideally educated to MSc level or equivalent.
- Must be a Chartered Engineer with ICE or IStructE.
