We are currently working with a leading contractor based within the Hertfordshire region, specifically Hatfield. They are looking to recruit a Rail Civil Structural Design Engineer to be based within consultancy service. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team in which you will be expected to utilize the latest design/analysis software working within a fast-paced design and build environment.


The role will see you working on all structural/civil engineering aspects within a Design and Build team for varied projects ranging from signalling, telecoms and power projects to structural building design. You will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of project related tasks to meet budget, programme and quality targets on London Underground and Network Rail projects.

As a Rail Civil Structural Design Engineer, you will take responsibility for your own work as well as working with technicians, which includes offer guidance to Graduate Engineers. You could be involved in a variety of projects which includes undertaking the design of structural steelwork superstructures, concrete foundations, retaining walls amongst other works within the Rail industry, which includes going out on site.

As mentioned, this positions is based in Hertfordshire, specifically Hatfield so could suit candidates in the surrounding areas of St Albans, Watford and towns North of London.

Job Requirements

• Competent use of one or similar of the following Staad Pro, Midas, Tekla Tedd etc
• Driving license
• Understanding and working use of Eurocodes, Network Rail and British Standards
• Minimum 4 years post graduate experience
• Previous experience of Design & Build would be beneficial, but not essential
• Experience in undertaking Civil or Structural Designs within a Rail Environment
• Experience in design with a variety of material such as steel, and reinforced concrete
