Rail – Lineside & Stations Civils Ganger / Supervisor

Location: Midlands, South East & South Wales

About The Role

We have an opening in our Rail division for a Civils Ganger / Supervisor to join our Rail team. As a Civils Ganger / Supervisor you will lead a team, working safely, efficiently and to a high standard on Rail Civil Engineering Projects.

Key Accountabilities:

Conduct general civils work and various other tasks relative to Lineside and Station Civils, as directed by the Construction Manager, including but not limited to:

• Installation of TEH/DNO bases.
• Installation of Fencing and Handrails.
• Installation of Stakka Boxes and Turning Chambers.
• Laying and replacing Troughing routes.
• Installation of Buried Ducts.
• Installation of Retaining Walls.
• Installation of lineside Cables.
• Incident, close call, near miss reporting.
• The productivity of staff.
• The control of materials onsite.
• The control of plant onsite and its correct use age.
• Ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with signed AFC designs.
• Ensuring that the potential for design change is notified to the Construction Manager/ Site Supervisor.
• Maintaining photographs of all installation works pre and post works.

Essential Skills

• PTS certificate
• Temporary Works Supervisor is an advantage
• First Aid Certification
• Experience working on rail civil engineering projects.
• Able to work nights, weekends and days as the programme requires.
• Full Clean UK driving licence.
• Eligibility to work within the UK
• Knowledge of health, safety, environmental & quality assurance, and regulations.
• Strong leadership skills
• Prepared to travel
• Punctual & Team player
• Positive, proactive, and flexible approach
• Self-organised with the ability to prioritise tasks.
• Good task and time management skills
• Honesty and integrity
• Ability to work to program milestones
• Communicate clearly and appropriately at all levels
