Railway Civil Works Independent Safety Assessor - Qatar

EWI are supporting a leading international certification company who require a Railway Civil Works Independent Safety Assessor for a prestigious rail project in Doha, Qatar.

As a Civil Works Safety Assessor, you will play a crucial role throughout the entire project life cycle, overseeing various phases including Preliminary Design, Detailed Design, Construction, Testing & Commissioning, and Handover of all Civil Work Systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Application of CENELEC EN50126 Part 1 and 2, EN50129 to the field of Railway Infrastructure and Civil Works.
• Review of technical documentation, design drawings, calculation reports, and design reports.
• Independent review of safety documentation, such as Safety Plans, V&V Plan, Safety Cases.
• Assessment of design documentation from the F&LS (Fire & Life Safety) perspective, ensuring compliance with applicable standards (NFPA 130, NFPA 101).
• Review of RAM documentation for civil subsystems, including FTA, FMECA, and RBA applied to MEP safety-related systems (TVS, FAP, etc.).
• Conduct audits to identify gaps between safety processes applied during the Design and Installation Stages and relevant Standards and Legislations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar role, particularly in railway civil works safety assessment.
• Familiarity with CENELEC EN50126 Part 1 and 2, EN50129 standards.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards such as NFPA 130, NFPA 101.
• Ability to review and assess complex technical documentation.
• Excellent communication and auditing skills.
