We are working with a major transport and infrastructure company who are looking to increase the size of their successful team.

They currently have a requirement for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their team on an initial 6-month contracted remote basis, with the occasional visit to Birmingham for works as and when needed.

The purpose of the role is for the Senior Civil Engineer to review structures examination reports in accordance with standards and confirming recommendations for action to safely and sustainably manage the assets amongst other duties.

Essential

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Substantial experience of railway civil engineering, with proven abilities in structures management, maintenance and inspection.
• A sound knowledge of structures engineering policies and standards.
• An understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques.
• Computer literate and conversant with MS Office applications.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with clients at all levels & meet challenging deadlines.
• STE2 Competent experienced reviewer in accordance with NR/SP/CTM/017
• BCMI certified (NR approved course)

Desirable

• Chartered or Incorporated Civil / Structural Engineer
• Proven abilities in structures assessment, design and construction.
• STE6 Tunnel Engineering knowledge with a view to obtaining this competency
• Have undertaken principal / detailed inspections of bridges, structures and tunnels in a rail context
