The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Senior Civil / Geotechnical Engineer to provide engineering, analysis, advice and solutions for the effective management of railway embankments, cuttings and formation (civil assets).

The Role

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining technical standards, specifications, procedures and inspection regimes for railway civil assets.
  • Working with the Asset Management team to develop an appropriate asset register for railway civil assets.
  • Conducting engineering inspections, testing and analysis of railway civil assets.
  • Developing practical short, medium to long term strategies and solutions for railway civil assets, based on risk and sound engineering principles.
  • Developing scopes of work for railway civil assets.
  • Interacting with and managing external consultants or contractors that are engaged to deliver civil / geotechnical engineering and asset management initiatives.
  • Conducting technical reviews of third party works on the railway corridor, providing technical advice related to civil, geotechnical and hydrology related issues

About You

To be successful in this role we need you to have

  • 10years+ Engineering and Asset management experience in Rail, Road or Heavy industry
  • Experience in Rail/Road related earthworks, slope stability analysis, inspection and management
  • Experience in Hydrological analysis and use of GIS for hydrological analysis
  • Engineering Degree (Civil, Geotechnical, Hydrology) is preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar role / operational railway is highly regarded
  • Must have current WA driver licence
