We are working with an engineering design consultancy based in Manchester that now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Structural Design Engineer to join their team on either a contract (outside IR35) or permanent basis. As the team is very collaborative, you will be expected to attend the office 4/5 days per week.

You will be involved in work on the following; foundations, storage tanks, earthworks, reinforced concrete and similar for flow enhancement works for the water industry. Also, Railway OLE foundations and assessments of OLE masts and other structures.

Principal responsibilities:

• Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
• Produce design calculations and drawings.
• Help to mentor CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
• Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications.
• Undertake work using formal processes and procedures.
• Assist with estimating hours required for design packages

Key skills/experience required:

• At least 5 years’ relevant design experience in structures and/or civil engineering
• Experience in either Rail, Water or Highways
• Graduate or HND
• IT competent
• Experience in temporary works design, structures and civil engineering (preferable)
