We have a new opportunity for an experienced Civil Highway Engineer or developing Senior Engineer who is looking to take the next step up in their career, with a bonified career progression plan. Due to the immediate need, this role will most likely be a single stage interview over Teams, with rates being generally flexible for the right individual.
Note, this job is a mix of working on both domestic, and international projects from the London office. If you have considered international relocation, or would like to be exposed to major projects across the globe, this could be an opportunity to facilitate those desires.
After a successful opening of its European HQ in London and a large influx of domestic and international projects, this multidisciplinary consultancy is now searching for a Senior Engineer to help manage the day to day activities of the Civils department. Ideal candidates would have previous management or mentorship experience, and must be confident undertaking work independently, as well as collaborating with other internal individuals from the London office, or international offices.
With around 20 members of the London Civils Team, there are strong desires to continue growing to a respectable 100+ members by 2025. Due to these growth requirements, there is some flexibility on seniority and technical capabilities of the right individual. Career progression will be clear - as the team grows and more junior staff are hired, your responsibilities and in turn, career, will flourish.
In the role, you will be reporting to the Principal Engineer who will have project management and commercial responsibilities. Your role, will include aspects of design management, commercial management, helping put fee and budget proposals together, providing outwards facing troubleshooting to clients, and providing key mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Generally, we are looking for someone with a varied experience, from the private or public sector backgrounds. Most importantly, the successful individual must have a strong technical background, and would have experience with MicroDrainage, Civils3D or PDS.
Successful candidates would have a broad understanding of highway and civil engineering, and would match most of these key points:

- Have a degree relevant to Civil and Highway Engineering
- Be technically independent with MicroDrainage, Civil 3D or PDS software
- Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and SUDs
- Experience liaising with local authorities and national bodies, such as the Environment Agency
- Highways alignment
- S278 and S38 experience
- DMRB or AASHTO familiarity
- Familiar with C2, C3, C4 processes
- Pavement and junction design
