Technical Assistant - Civil Engineering

Our client, a civil engineering main contractor is looking for a technical assistant to join their construction team. The role will suit an ambitious engineer that is in the early stages of their career. wanting to the climb the ladder on a flagship project.

The Enabling Works Technical Assistant assists the Enabling Works Lead to coordinate, integrate and assure the Enabling Works packages and helps to create an efficient working environment, ensures technical processes and schedule are completed and assists in running an auditable series of processes

Responsibilities

1. Assist the Enabling Works Lead to plan and implement delivery in accordance with the programme.
2. Miscellaneous administrative tasks including arranging meetings/workshops and taking minutes.
3. Contribute to the achievement of safe, buildable, operational and maintainable assets. Maintain an uncompromising commitment to safety.
4. Support status/programme reporting, tracking of actions, risk reporting/mitigation and change management.
5. Review design deliverables and Identify issues with the design, escalate and support resolution.
6. Assist in producing documents, trackers and assurance documents.
7. Monitor progression of technical assurance, especially where areas are progressively fixed.
8. Support ongoing cost forecasting and support cost reduction opportunities.
9. Support innovation.
10. Support engagement with the client, third parties and the supply chain.
11. Assist in preparing scope documents and contract documentation



Qualifications, Certifications and Experience required

Essential

Educated to degree or higher level or equivalent in a numerate discipline, typically Engineering discipline (or related) or office administration. A lower educational level, typically HNC or HND, may be acceptable where some level of experience in a similar role can be demonstrated.

Desired

Membership of an appropriate Professional body, typically member of Institute of Civil Engineering or an international equivalent professional status
