Works Manager - (Civil/Structure's)

Salary: £ <phone number removed> per annum + car + benefits (Depending on Experience)

Location: Wandsworth

My client is currently in the market for an experienced Works Manager. The ideal Works Manager will come on board and take ownership of the project, managing the subcontractors to ensure the project is delivered to the customers' expectations.

The successful Works Manager's responsibilities will be:

• Manage work activities to ensure delivery is completed efficiently, on time and within budget
• Ensure work is executed safely, meeting and exceeding company guidelines.
• Produce risk assessments and method statements for safe execution of the works.
• Put in place measures to ensure accurate implementation of all engineering controls and compliance with the contract drawings and specification.
• Produce documentation to support the construction process, including programmes, and RAMS.
• Ensure that all staff and operatives are familiar with the safety and other procedures and that they are understood and adhered to.
• Organize briefings on method statements to relevant staff and operatives within their area
• Lead all actions to solve technical difficulties, improve performance in terms of progress and quality
• Set working parameters, ensure their application on site, assess the performance
• Coordinate the work of their shifts and ensure consistency of operation
• Deliver end product to customer satisfaction
• Deliver performance in key areas of health and safety, environment and quality
• Lead the delivery of the customer's quality requirements.

Requirements

• Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC, HND, BSc MSc, BEng, Meng)
• Previous experience working as a Works Manager delivering bridge structure projects or on something similar.
• Site Management Safety Training Scheme SMSTS
• First Aid Trained
• Excellent project management and communication skills
• The ability to manage and control tasks
• Experience in some or all: Bridge work, Steel works, scaffolding/Painting/refurbishments on Civil work projects
