Commercial Manager (Rail) - London/Hybrid - £415/day umbrella - 6 months+

We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join our client working in the Rail sector. The roles are based in Central London with a hybrid working arrangement (2/3 days a week). These are contract roles with an initial 6 Month duration, the rate is £415/day on an umbrella company basis.

The role

• To manage the deliver commercial and contract management to a defined asset group or delivery area in the Chief Operating Officer's team, value between £10 - 20m per annum.
• Experience of managing and administering contracts in an underground/railway environment, asset management.
• business, or in a highly regulated industry with health and safety at its core.
• Previous experience in assessment and settlement of claims Experienced in utilisation of specialist IT systems for the management contracts.

Key Responsibilities/Expectations

• Knowledge of UK procurement legislation and regulations covering procurement activities, including compliance and governance.
• Experienced in a procurement role, and supply chain management able to engage and operate with project teams.
• Experienced in managing end-to-end procurements in a safety critical environment
• Provides commercial support and advice to the operational and asset managers in a defined area of the Chief Operating Officer's team.
• Works with the Procurement team for COO to ensure appropriate, value adding procurement and contracting strategies are agreed and implemented.
• Works with the Finance Managers to input to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, financial reports and to approve payments.

Qualifications/Experience

• CIPS membership (or eligibility for membership) or other professional qualification
• Educated to degree level, or equivalent.
• Understanding of relevant contract and procurement legislation and regulatory requirements
• Good grasp of financial and procurement controls, processes and systems.
• Have worked in the underground/railway environment, asset management business, or in a highly regulated industry.
