Company Information

An independent rail consultancy of 10 years' standing, with a wealth of experience and expertise across a wide variety of environments and disciplines is looking to take on a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor to pprovide Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying experience on a £166m rail project, that will see the upgrade of 29km of track, open six new stations, three new footbridges and new signal locations in the North East of England

The project site is based in Northumberland however the role will predominantly be homebased with expectation to travel to site and other offices / clients as required.

Responsibilities

- To provide quantity surveying assistance to delivery teams
- Responsible with the Project Manager for all project reports to pre-determined deadlines.
- Manage the compensation event process
- Assess compensation events
- Draft Project Managers Instructions on behalf of the project manager.
- Carry out any administration required under the NEC4 ECC Contract.
- Value payment certificates in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the development of junior staff
- Attendance at project and site meetings
- Own the production of full CVR including ongoing risk assessment, forecasts and progress.
- Attend SLC Rail Commercial Meetings on a regular basis
- Support SLC Rail in additional commercial duties (additional to core project), when require

Experience required

- Previous experience in a Senior Quantity Surveying role ideally in the rail sector
- A HND/Degree qualification in quantity surveying or relevant commercial discipline
- ideally Working towards or hold membership of an appropriate recognised professional institution
