Our client is seeking a Commercial Manager where you will head a small team to bring new ideas and drive the team forward with business plans. In this role you will be supporting the AMP6 Framework, this is a permanent role paying circa £60,000 - £65,000 per annum. – Based in Rochester, Kent.

The successful candidate will have a proven commercial background, will be competent and experienced in providing clear and concise management reports looking at contract performance, risk management and future forecasting.

The main duties include the responsibility for the following:

Produce high level commercial reports with emphasis on project specific reports, annualised framework mechanisms, profit & loss reporting, future forecasting of turnover and margin and team management of QS’s at varying levels.

• Challenge supply chain procurement while utilising knowledge of NEC and business law to verify, oversee or approve commercial agreements and documentation.
• Undertake cost to complete / budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.
• Review sub contract orders and advise accordingly within the procurement guidelines.
• Ensure all relevant KPI data is produced and the accuracy of the information and negotiate with key strategic supply chain.
• Final account negotiation achieving the best possible outcome for the JV.
• Maximising value and minimising cost, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place to monitor and manage the operating cost base.
• Manage commercial performance against business targets and KPI’s.
• Promote a culture of integration, continuous improvement and use of best practice across the client base.
• Ensure that cash flow is maximised including ensuring that payments are received appropriately.
• Preparation of monthly management high level financial performance reports.
• Responsibility of validating sensitive commercial information for other team members prior to submission of said information up the reporting chain.
• Management of your team to ensure commercial aspects with the client inc. Comp events, extension of time, completion request etc. are carried out where required.
• Supervision and control of cash payments in and out of the JV bank account and provide accurate cash reports to ensure a smooth cash flow.

Experience/ Skills:

• Ideally candidates will come from a Water or Civil Engineering background
• Degree qualified
• Proven Commercial background
• Competent and experienced in providing clear and concise management reports looking at contract performance, risk management and future forecasting.
