About The Role
We are now recruiting a Commercial Manager who will be responsible for delivering a commercial strategy to maximise revenue by defining the products and prices on our services. The role will involve developing a pro-active commercial team that utilises accurate and robust business intelligence to direct decision making. The Commercial Manager will build strong interdepartmental relationships with colleagues across the business as well as with our external partners to maximise the value added.
The role will be responsible for leading key strategic commercial programmes and projects within the organisation and accurately reporting and forecasting financial progress. It will also cover system development projects to ensure the commercial benefits from system enhancements can be maximised.
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and driving a commercial strategy to deliver increased revenue.
- Developing and leading a pro-active commercial team to deliver the optimal yield and passenger journey growth, applying innovation to ensure that the business leads the industry.
- Utilising customer insight extensively, placing the customer central to commercial strategy.
- Monitoring the delivery of revenue analysis and output, taking action where necessary to achieve required objectives, ensuring a clear focus on attention to detail.
- Using research and competitor analysis to drive business improvement and gain modal share.
- Developing team and commercial systems to ensure continuous improvements are made and processes are lean & agile.
- Providing commercial leadership to the wider business
About You
You will be an experienced commercially minded individual with a proven track record of delivering revenue-driving initiatives within the transportation industry. You will have a passion for driving change through continuous improvement, coupled with strong communication skills and an ability to influence others.
You will work collaboratively with a can-do attitude, always seeking opportunities to optimise revenue performance and enhance customer experience and promote the reputation with our customers, stakeholders & partners.
Other Skills & Experience Required
- Significant experience of developing commercial strategies based on customer insight within the transportation industry, with a proven track record of delivery.
- Experience working at Board and senior management level with strong communication skills, both written and verbally.
- Highly organised, team leader who can handle multiple projects at once and prioritise workload.
- Highly numerate with proven experience in driving ROI, through testing, measurement and refinement.
- Experienced budget holder providing appropriate performance indicators to illustrate progress against plan.
