To provide assurance that contracts entered into by the Client are operated and administered strictly in accordance with the terms of those contracts and in a manner that is consistent with the the Client's policy and governance arrangements.

To manage the project reserved functions under the the Client's NEC contracts and to manage the Client's reserved functions under third party agreements.

Ensure as far as possible that the Client are obtaining best affordable value in delivering the Client's l project objectives and that commercial risk is properly considered and managed by the Client though its contract arrangements.

Accountabilities

• Manage the project contract administration procedures to ensure compliance and consistency with the Client's policy and governance arrangements.
• Provide leadership and guidance on contract administration matters to the area and contract level Business Managers and Contract Administrators.
• Ensure that the project teams are managing contracts in accordance with the Client policies, precedent and procedure.
• Act as the main point of contact for Contractors, and as the administrator, for the project reserved functions including the management of contract disputes.
• Act as the Clients internal point of contact for the management of contract disputes.
• Provide advice on setting suitable KPIs for contract monitoring.

Specification

• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction Management.
• Membership of a relevant professional institution e.g. RICS, ICE, CIOB.
• Vast experience of Contract Commercial Management within the civil engineering or rail environment.
• Experience of managing and negotiating complex contract claims and disputes.
• Understanding and a working knowledge of standard construction and infrastructure industry contract types with NEC/ECC experience would be advantageous.
