Proven procurement or commercial professional with a strong knowledge of OJEU rules and regulations within, ideally a rail infrastructure environment, experience required for a long term contract opportunity based from home with travel to Croydon 1 day a week.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who have full lifecycle procurement experience who have ideally worked client side, either directly or via their supply chain, to work on a major multi-disciplined rail engineering programme.
Responsibilities:
- Identify current contracts landscape (internal and external contract vehicles)
- Gaps Analysis: Assess fitness for purpose of current vehicles and alignment with the proposed objectives
- Plan: Identify new contract vehicles that could be procured to accelerate delivery of the programme
- To act as a trusted advisor in assisting business owners in developing and implementing procurement strategies for projects and services required by the company and it's partners;
- Be proactive in building, owning and developing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders; Establishing a Commercial Business Partnering approach within relevant portfolio(s).
To be considered for the role candidates will need to have:
- Proven experience working on a procurement function
- Experience of working in the rail sector
- Deep experience and understanding of Private and Public Sector/EU procurement and supply chain management processes; knowledge of OJEU rules and regulations, routes to market, evaluation panel structures, criteria and contract award procedures.
- A solid appreciation of UK Public Sector and a clear understanding of the environment in which an organisation needs to work with its customers and interested parties; Ability to operate in an evolving organisation.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills, with an ability to develop, communicate and gain ownership of a clear vision and direction.
- Excellent influencing and listening skills; an ability to be heard through personal credibility and exercise sound judgement.
- Experience of designing and implementing effective procurement strategies.
- Experience of helping to build effective relationships and working in partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience and understanding of legal and governance requirements within an organisation of similar scale and scope.
- Ideally MCIPS or similar qualification.
