We are currently dealing with a major rail Engineering contractor who are looking at recruiting a commercial manager to be based in Derby to provide day-to-day duties on rail projects as a Commercial Manager reporting into the Commercial Director. Within the role you will assess contract programme and minimize risk and liability which includes controlling sub-contractors and contact conditions of contract and compiling/agreeing final accounts with client. - Management of Commercial Team
- Attend client meetings
- Contractual and Commercial correspondence
- Assess Contract conditions and minimise risk
- Compile monthly applications and submit to client & ensure cashflow stability
- Liaise with clients and ensure cash income
- Identify and valuate site instructions & extensions of time
- Demonstrable experience within a commercial department within a managerial role
- A good understanding of works measurement and valuation including the cost and value reconciliation of contractor and/or subcontractor accounts preferably within a rail
- Experience within the commercial industry/sector.
- A good understanding of contract document preparation, contract management
processes and procedures - Experience of assisting in the handling of claims and disputes
- A working knowledge of procurement techniques and contract forms.
- An understanding of commercial and financial reporting within a project, programme or portfolio environment
- Ability to travel to different locations as and when required.
