Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the annual review, update, and communication of the following documents : Company Policies, Manuals, Legal registers, Roles & Responsibilities, Environmental aspects register
- Document control spreadsheet up to date, communication of policies, manuals, legal registers, environmental aspects register and roles and responsibilities. Internal & external audits. Recertification of the ISO's <phone number removed> & 14001.
- Book and participate in internal audits and Consultation meetings with relevant Consultants and Staff members.
- Manage the office Compliance audits
- KPI report up to date.
- Provide technical advice on ESG legislation
- Maintain the training matrix and organise training as required.
- Good ability to analyse and interpret rules and published guidance from the regulators and other relevant bodies, and keep the business apprised.
- Serve as a confidential point of contact for employees to seek clarification on compliance issues, or report irregularities.
- The compliance officer may also be required to provide specialist regulatory assistance to the Legal team
Provide full compliance support during project lifecycle including: -
- Set new projects up and ensure all paperwork on up to date before the project starts
- Organise all site based audits with the Health & Safety Consultant.
- Be a regulatory specialist who will help interpret and scan for ESG/sustainability issues and help the business understand the regulatory issues across the project lifecycle
- Undertake compliance checks at key project stages including prior to Business Case submission including adherence to Cost, Schedule, Risk, Issue, Benefits, Change Plans.
- Undertake compliance review at Post Project Evaluation stage including readiness to proceed to Closure and ensure collation of associated Lessons Learned on Project Site.
- Provide monthly Compliance Report on all projects identifying areas of non-compliance or highlighting areas for concern.
- Collate and report on a range of wider project performance factors including Environmental Safety, and Sustainability as set out in government Procurement Policy Notes.
- Maintain and manage Competency Management Framework including management of training provider contracts.
- Manage Stakeholder Management and Communications Plan.
Requirements:
Experience in managing a varied portfolio of regulatory compliance activities including:
- A background in regulatory compliance matters within construction and engineering.
- Direct Project management experience at international level.
- Experience of regulatory compliance matters within complex infrastructure assets across key disciplines such as policy development, policy implementation, provision of advisory support, compliance governance and reporting, handling internal and external investigations and reviews.
- Experience of delivering Compliance advice in an asset management environment, including on ESG /sustainable aspects
Qualifications/ Skills:
- Relevant degree such as Governance, Company law or equivalent.
- At least 10+ years' experience.
- Contracting works experience in infrastructure (rail, roads, airports, hydropower, water).
- Take ownership, direct and influence across the board.
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Proactive self-starter
- Foreign languages are a plus.
