We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Compliance & Sentinel Manager to join us and support our continued business growth.
Your new role will include the following responsibilities:
- Manage the department to ensure compliance with Rail Industry safety requirements, Sentinel Scheme, contractor training and certification requirements.
- Review internal processes periodically to identify possible risk or non-conformance issues.
- Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
- Keep up to date with regulatory developments for the Rail Industry, informing the Company’s Senior Managers and implementing any changes that arise.
- Prepare Compliance reports for management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.
- Deliver HSQE advice to the business.
- Conduct internal investigation of any compliance breaches or issues.
- Arrange and lead external auditors in audits as required.
- Posses the ability to understand complex regulatory issues & communicate this effectively across the business.
- Following audits, carry out non-conformances investigations and rectify the issues raised.
- Understand and implement the Sentinel Scheme Rules and sponsorship management processes.
- Ensure that information held on the Sentinel Database for individuals is correct and up to date.
- Understand and manage the company data under the RISQS & ISO certifications and arrange and lead the audits to maintain certification.
- Run client audits when required.
- Lead a team of highly competent individuals
- To issue Health & Safety briefings to employees and contractors as required.
- To attend management meetings as required, presenting & reporting on job specific information and data as required.
- To submit all contractor’s training certificates to the Training Manager to ensure they are at the level required and that they are current and in force.
- Ensure that Contractors hold the correct competency to carry out the work and are valid for their shift.
For such a high-profile role, applicants must have:
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
- A minimum of 5 years Compliance Management responsibility
- A minimum of 2 years working within the Rail Industry
- A thorough understanding of the Rail Industry’s standards and regulations
- A thorough understanding of the Sentinel Scheme
- A methodical and diligent approach to work with outstanding planning abilities
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
- Excellent IT skills.
- Be an effective communicator with sound interpersonal skills.
- Be an effective team player.
