HSEQ Trainee Advisor & Compliance Support

Overview
Operating across all aspects of LSL the Group Compliance team supports and assures that as a business our management systems are remaining effective. Working with the Group Compliance Manager you will assist in maintaining and assuring Compliance is implemented across the LSL group of Companies and act as the primary point of contact within the Compliance team for general enquiries while maintaining key relationships with other group and business specific functions as well as liaising with external organisations and accreditation bodies.
Roles and Responsibilities
Working alongside the Compliance Manager, you will continually develop, improve implementation, and maintain the integrated management system.
Responsibilities will include;
Compliance responsibilities
- With guidance (Compliance Manager), support preparation for external audits and associated accreditations for the company group.
• Conduct internal IMS audits.
• Conduct audits on suppliers and subcontractors.
Advisor responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections and audits.
• Review project documentation (WPPs, methodologies, risk assessments etc.).
• Conduct incident investigations.
• Issue and manage corrective action reports.
• Provide briefings & training to operational personnel.
• Develops, produces & review high level project HSEQ documentation.
• Update and maintain trackers and spreadsheets following work activities.
Administration responsibilities
- Maintain tracking and filing of all HSEQ data & records.
• Support the HSEQ manager in producing statistical analysis reports & output.
• Coordinating and booking of site meetings.
• Distributing safety alerts to operations and office locations.
• Provide updates at weekly supervisors’ meeting on close call reporting and site inspection reports and discuss HSEQ matters.
• Attend meetings and take minutes, document actions and chase any follow up enquires.
• Continuously monitor and update DSE assessments, air con records, first aid checklists, fire alarm tests and associated documentation.
• Issue and log rule book issues, ensure the correct level of books are kept in stock via our supplier.
• Ensure all relevant signage across the company is maintained and relevant (fire wardens/first aid).
Essential
- Strong IT skills.
• Practically applied knowledge of the health, safety and environmental requirements set out in legislation.
• Working at Height Theory & Awareness Training
• Manual Handling Practical Training
• Fire Safety Awareness Training
• Portable Fire Extinguisher Training
Desirable
- Qualifications – NEBOSH construction certificate – willing to work toward.
• Level 1 award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health
• Level 3 award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health
• Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work
