Construction CRE (Contractor’s Responsible Engineer)

A Construction CRE is required to join a rail and engineering contractor working across South-East Wales. You will be responsible for the tender, planning, construction, commissioning and hand-back phases of many of the clients projects and for supporting Civil Asset Management Projects, and ITP assurance (working with high-risk work items), as well as responsibility for the development of technical solutions, programme & budget control, SHEQ considerations, design co-ordination, and early constructability reviews. Other requirements include undertaking CRE duties, design implementation, progress, change and assurance, risk and opportunity preparation, and quality control and inspections.

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Construction CRE in a similar rail contracting environment, an in-depth understanding of rail and civil engineering principles and construction methods (along with how they should be implemented), a working knowledge and understanding on the Network Rail’s GRIP process, and will be educated to a relevant engineering discipline.
