Job Summary

VolkerRail have formed a new business to deliver lineside piling services and ground investigation within the group and wider market.

We are looking to appoint a Construction Manager to join the existing Plant management team to support this business unit.

An integral part of both the management and site teams you will be responsible for the optimum use of resources and delivery of foundation contracts (of all sizes, value, types and complexity) with respect to safety, budget, programme and quality.

You will understand the technical requirements of pile design and installation to ensure its realisation on site and manage any technical queries to be processed and resolved efficiently, at all times being aware of client and industry standards. You will also ensure that effective change controls are in place to capture alterations to the original project remit.

Job Requirements

A skilled communicator with strong organisational ability, you will excel at working to deadlines and possess a proactive ‘can do’ approach to both your own work and in how you manage others.

Essential requirements for this role include:

• Relevant and demonstrable experience in a construction management or supervisory role within the railway industry together with experience of working with piling and ground investigation activities.
• A proven track record of success in safely leading on site construction teams.
• Educated to HNC level (or suitable equivalent)
