Construction Supervisor - Telecoms in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom

OVERALL PURPOSE:

To ensure that all scheme and projects allocated are implemented to laid down systems, procedures, quality, environmental, and safety standards.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES OR MAIN TASKS:

  1. In conjunction with the Site Engineer, carry out auditing, reviewing and reporting of the quality, safety and progress of telecoms project installation activities as
  2. Direct the Supervisory or Installation staff, to ensure all employees, which may include Agency / Sub- Contractors are utilised to the maximum of their efficiency, and that all construction meets the necessary specification and standards
  3. Ensure that all laid down legislation for equipment, and plant is complied with, including any calibration or certification that is
  4. Monitor scheme’s and projects, man hours against target man hours, and identify when there is potential to achieve
  5. Identify any potential increase to target hours and notify the project manager as soon as
  6. Ensure all relevant records and paperwork that are held, are maintained as required by the Construction Manager.
  7. Undertake all relevant safety duties / briefs (COSS, TOFS brief, toolbox talks etc.) within the limits of competencies
  8. Assess and further the training needs and ongoing development of the installation staff under their control.

  1. Manage company premises including depots, yards and sites, whether permanent or temporary to comply with HSE, Fire, and other legislation /
  2. Implement systems and controls to minimise the misuse, loss, theft, vandalism, and damage to any plant, vehicles or equipment under their control, whether company owned or hired

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:

  • Assist in maximising the utilisation of
  • Ensure schemes and projects are correctly and cost effectively
  • To brief staff as required.
  • Implement local management systems, to comply with company procedures regarding Welfare, Grievance, Discipline, Poor Performance, Absence Monitoring, Hidden, and Annual
  • Competent to assist in Telecoms testing
  • Competent to assist in the production of Telecoms design and
  • Ensure any deviation from the design is dealt with in the appropriate contractual
  • Ensure IRSE Log Book is

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:

  1. Qualifications:
    • Appropriate technical qualifications
    • Appropriate Safety qualifications (COSS/IWA)
    • Minimum of 5 years Site Management on Railway Telecoms
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in Railway Telecommunications
    • Knowledge of company procedures
    • Ability to lead
    • Able to drive or willing to
    • IT Literate
    • IRSE Licensed or working towards.
