The role
You will lead the Track and Electrification E&P engineering activities for project W1/2A. As the E&P Construction CRE you will manage conformance to the contract specification, all relevant standards, and delivery to programme timescales.
Key accountabilities
You will:
• Lead and manage E&P engineering activities for the team on W1/2A.
• Co-operate with the other engineering teams and disciplines.
• Plan and implement E&P engineering activities on W1/2A.
• Monitor and improve / develop engineering competence of the team - specific to E&P.
• Undertake briefings on any engineering issues - specific to E&P on W1/2A.
• Contribute to all necessary engineering documentation (programmes, WPP, TB’s etc.) - specific to E&P on W1/2A.
• Review all necessary engineering site documentation (programmes, WPP, TB’s etc.) - specific to E&P on W1/2A.
• Identify any deviations from any standards (e.g. Network Rail Standards) and submit applications for derogations where appropriate.
• Contribute towards engineering assurance and quality control on W1/2A.
• Support the CEM on W1/2A in the discharge of their role duties including Construction Design Management (CDM) compliance and the clients Common Safety Method Risk Assessment (CSM-RA) and Hazard Log.
• Identify Residual hazards on the design and highlight them on the drawings and hazard log.
• Ensure that critical engineering processes, such as TSI, CDM, CSM, (etc.) are appropriately managed and resourced within the E&P engineering team.
• Ensure that critical project engineering documentation (such as the WPP, TB’s, Permits, etc.) has appropriate resource and attention allocated to it to facilitate quality and timely completion and compliance.
• Actively participate in, and engage with, external (e.g. ORR, Client) and internal (e.g. Amey and TRUW) audits.
• Plan and implement T&I processes - specific to E&P on W1/2A.
To lead the team on site and in the office (there will be a requirement to work nights, weekends and holiday periods as necessary, by negotiation).
Skills & experience
You will have:
• HND / HNC academic qualifications or equivalent and appropriate (10 years) practical experience in the relevant industry.
• PTS including Working Near or Adjacent to AC Lines and satisfy requirements of PTS medical.
• IOSH safety qualification (or equivalent).
• The right attitude to safety, engineering compliance, and collaborative behaviour.
• E&P engineering knowledge and experience.
• E&P construction experience on large projects.
• Knowledge and experience of planning and implementing E&P works in a wide range of circumstances and environments.
• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge and understanding of Network Rail E&P standards.
