Programme Manager - Infrastructure / construction in Derby, United Kingdom

TXM have an incredible opportunity to join a successful Train Operating Business in Derby, working as a Programme Manager. With multiple projects planned across our client's stations and depots, this role will be responsible for the successful delivery of these projects. These range from thousand to multi-million pound projects!

Day rate will be dependant on the level of experience you hold and will be discussed upon receiving your application. Our client can be competitive.

Contracted hours for this role are 37 hours per week, with hybrid working available (See key information below)

About this Position:

The programme Manager will lead and support a group of project managers through our client's business transformation agenda of upcoming works, planned through to March 2024. They will also ensure sufficient resources are provided to deliver projects and to disburse our client's requirements around safe delivery of works, with forecasting of resources and management of resources. 

* The current person in this post has moved to work with another business on another project, so this position is of high priority to fill for our client. Interview date and start date will be as soon as possible post your application.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Planning and designing the programme of infrastructure and property works; Proactively forecasting demands, monitoring progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders to ensure that major events and industry activities are reflected in the programme and that programme risks are adequately communicated.
  • Provide quality assurance on reports, plans, drawings and calculations developed as part of the works programme
  • Act as the point of escalation for specific project risks and issues.
  • Develop clear stakeholder and RACI plans for stakeholder engagement, including pulse checks to ensure both internal and external stakeholders have buy-in to project scopes/objectives and feel appropriately engaged


Requirements:

After discussion with our client, we are looking for someone with construction experience in programme management, with a history of leading a team and the ability to produce reports for executives, managing and tracking of KPIs and the production of written documents to present to board members and stakeholders.
  • Programme management in construction - ESSENTIAL
  • Rail experience - DESIRABLE
  • Degree educated - DESIRABLE

Key information for applicants:

  • Hybrid working is in place with our client with 2/3 days from home typical. This role requires visibility to the team under them, so planning of being in office / on-site each week is crucial.
  • Typical start times of 7am up to 10am each day (flexible, with consideration to visibility to team and stakeholders)
  • This role will be inside IR35, with potential scope for CIS (awaiting evaluation)
  • Main locations this role will be active in for the duration of the contract: Leicester, Derby, Skegness and Boston station
