My Client are one of the world's leading engineering professional services consulting firms, They provide services to transform the built environment and restore the natural environment, and their expertise ranges from environmental remediation to urban planning, from engineering iconic buildings to designing sustainable transport networks, and from developing the energy sources of the future to enabling new ways of extracting essential resources.

They have more than 30,000 employees, including engineers, technicians, scientists, architects, planners, surveyors, program and construction management professionals, and various environmental experts. They have offices worldwide.

They are now looking for a Senior Project manager to join their national Project Management Division which offers more than just traditional project management services. Their Project Managers are experienced professionals with client, design, contractor and surveying backgrounds providing a range of services from development management and project management to contract administration and employer's agent.

Job Summary:

As part of the Team within a national PM business, lead project teams taking responsibility for the delivery of the project workload, successful attainment of both internal and external project objectives and enhanced client satisfaction. Specifically to take responsibility as the Senior Project Manager for the delivery of Major Projects based at Brighton University.

Responsibilities:

  • To support the Regional Director of Project Management in the development and growth of project management throughout the region.
  • To take ownership for the successful delivery of projects; giving leadership and direction to the team, managing design teams, effectively communicating with all parties, identify and manage the risks, planning and progress monitoring, development of appropriate project controls.
  • To assure the performance of the project team on project delivery to meet agreed profit and client satisfaction objectives.
  • To champion excellent health and safety practice and manage Project Management commissions to achieve safe, sustainable and efficient outcomes that meet agreed objectives.
  • To develop and maintain relationships with clients, peers and others who are influential in providing future business.
  • To act as a role model and mentor for staff within the Project Management team and wider business.
  • To secure new work through networking, bidding, building relationships, and internal client sharing.

Qualifications and Experience:

The following qualifications and experience may be considered representative for an appropriate candidate:

  • Essential qualification: full member of an appropriate professional institution (RICS, CIOB, APM).
  • A University degree in a construction, design or related discipline.
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of providing project management services on building projects involving new-build and refurbishment work with a minimum value of £10m construction cost.
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of advising on structured project control process.
  • Highly desirable sectors for experience: education projects, particularly University projects.
  • experience, working either as a client, consultant or contractor, in public and/or private sector environments.
