We are looking for a suitable Construction CRE for fibre installation/jointing/testing for a project in Wales.

This would be for at least 6 months and minimum of 3 days per week, possibly full-time, but would need to include site inspections and working in the CVL area.

General Description:

We are currently seeking a Telecoms Construction CRE with specialised skills in Rail Fibre to join our Rail Team to work within our existing engineering team to deliver a package of works associated with the Core Valley Lines Transformation Project

You will be part of a team responsible for the successful delivery of this telecommunications package for a major client Transport for Wales.

Responsibilities:

The Construction Telecoms CRE will undertake the following responsibilities to support the Rail Infrastructure department:

  • Able to lead the Fibre Construction teams in all aspects of Fibre Loose tube, Spider Web Ribbon Installation. Termination and Testing.
  • Able to solve engineering problems effectively and, challenge the remit, thus enabling the development of robust engineering solutions to provide our clients with the best engineering solution and thus offering them excellent value for money on all works involving Fibre.
  • Scope and supervise surveys
  • Lead and manage all lineside fibre engineering in relation to the project
  • Help to develop the production of drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Check, review and accept technical work by the design team or design partners.
  • Leading and assisting with the preparation of documentation relating to fibre works for the project: WPPs/TBSs ITPs and QCS and assurance documentation
  • Manage delivery teams
  • Providing technical guidance on Standards implementation to members of the team/Sub Contractor
  • Assist in the review/Acceptance of all necessary site documentation associated with Fibre engineering works.
  • Attend Engineering meetings and ensure relevant stakeholders are updated
  • Interface with other discipline leads, construction teams and clients directly to ensure project delivery is undertaken to the required standards and timescales, this will include attending regular project update meetings, construction meetings and project meetings.
  • Produce, review, and approve detailed risk assessments covering Fibre installations and assist with installation planning and testing to ensure Hazards are identified and Risks mitigated.
  • All hand back/Test data and assurance documentation relating to the works
