- Critical Project Resourcing are currently working with a client organisation; who are looking to recruit a Technical Administrator to join their team in Milton Keynes, covering a new high-speed rail programme. This is the perfect opportunity for an individual who has been involved in administration (ideally within an engineering organisation/ construction company), and looking for exposure to a larger programme, where there is potential to progress within the company. In this role you will provide technical advice and support to the Engineering teams, coordinating meetings and direction.
This particular part of the organisation is extremely busy - they provide support and advice to construction client teams on technical matters, promoting challenge, opportunities and innovation. In total this part of the company will receive 75,000 documents, and the department heads require the Technical Administrator to ensure that these documents are kept track of, organised, manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and departure responses, ensuring they are produced in a timely manner through liaison with the wider team.
The role will involve:
- Being the first point of contact for senior managers and the team on technical, contractual and admin services/ processes redirecting and responding and ensuring tasks are completed to the high standard expected
- Assess draft RFI responses- ensuring questions raised by the contractor are answered before seeking Head of Engineering and Environmental approval
- Assist Senior Engineers within responses with responses to communications by drafting where possible - seeking approval
- Ensure team meetings are run smoothly and effectively
- Prepare briefing packs, presentations and documents
- Develop reporting systems and update Team, Departmental and Directorate records and databases
- Develop and maintain information system in MS Teams and Sharepoint to enable
Experience:
- Ideally experienced working as an Administrator within an engineering company
- Strong communication skills - someone who is not afraid of speaking on the phone to sub contractors and individuals
- Able to prioritise work and manage time effectively
- Keen to understand systems - eB, CEMAR, Sharepoint, PowerBI experience is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software- PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook, Excel
- Assetwise,/ Database experience
Ideally engineering related qualification
