Company Information:
My client are a long established and highly successful civil engineering contractor specialising in railway engineering. They are a primary contractor for Network Rail delivering a diverse range of projects from earthworks and embankment stabilisation schemes to major structural projects such as footbridge replacements and bridge refurbishments.
Main Responsibilities
- As an Administrator, you would be providing support to the Project Co-Ordinator by:
- Submitting daily / weekly working advices
- Updating spreadsheets and internal systems
- Liaising with Site Operatives to advise of whereabouts
- Make last minute alterations to work plans
- Inform the client of the on-call details for the following week
- Submit completion packs to the client upon completion of physical works
- Generating job numbers for new orders
- Compiling the KPI Reporting on a monthly basis to Network Rail
- Submitting buried service requests
- Update client software on a daily basis to inform the client of current status of works, also liaising with the client as and when required
- Production of site packs
- Monitor and maintain a record of close calls raised on a weekly basis
- Word processing, filing, scanning and other ad-hoc duties
- Meeting & diary management including taking minutes of meetings
- Reception / telephone duties
- Clerical support for Site Managers / Works Delivery Managers / Operatives etc.
The Ideal Candidate
- Rail experience - desirable
- Excellent PC skills (MS Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Confident, self-motivated & proactive
- Customer focused with professional phone manner and ability to communicate with clarity
- Ability to work well within a team, responding quickly to support colleagues
- Proven administration experience.
- NVQ L3 in Business Administration (or equivalent) - desirable
- Good level of education - GCSE English or Maths or Higher Education
- NVQ Customer Service (or equivalent) - desirable
