Contracts Manager in Nottinghamshire, East Midlands, United Kingdom, Nottingham, United Kingdom
Contracts Manager required to work in the Rail Sector at our Nottingham HQ. The role will be predominantly based at our HQ but will involve travel throughout the UK to meet clients.
Role Brief:
Reporting to the Infrastructure Services Director, you will provide contract management across a wide portfolio of services, which will include:
• Minor rail projects
o Construction (both minor works & PWAY)
o Signalling Enhancements
o Maintenance
o Renewals
• Specialist access services
o Commercial diving
o Roped access
o High risk confined space
We have a growing portfolio of contracts, in both the rail and the public sector, under both government forms and NEC3 contracts. Although not essential, an understanding of forms of contract would be an advantage.
About the role:
• You will be involved in the project lifecycle from tendering through to close out
• Manage a growing portfolio of contracts with a combined value of circa £5m
• Manage the progress of change requests through the company’s governance structure, systems and processes
• Proactively monitor and mitigate risks associated with the contract portfolio
• Liaise with stakeholders and monitor/report on progress/performance
• Managing Early Warnings and formal disputes
• Undertake site visits and compliance checks against contracts
• Understand pricing considerations and liaise with relevant stakeholders to manage costs/profitability through to delivery
About you:
• Have a strong grounding in Project Management:
o Strong analytical and organisational skills with attention to detail
o Good negotiation, influencing and communication skills
o Confident and resourceful
o Numerate with ability to manipulate numerical information
• Have experience of:
o Contract management
o Monitoring performance and compliance of suppliers and contracts
o Managing pricing, utilisation and profitability
o Leading stakeholders through contract change request processes
o Different forms of contract and associated risks
• Managing construction work in a rail environment would be an advantage
• Managing and pricing for contract risk
• IT literate including: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project.
