What can you bring to this role?

• A professional qualification in Civil Engineering such as HNC, HND or Degree
• Experience acting as CRE
• Experience working with a main contractor on civil engineering schemes, specifically rail minor works
  • Bridge refurbishment, bridge maintenance, embankment repairs, embankment stabilisation, parapet replacement, bridge strengthening, ducting, drainage, canopy replacement, possessions etc.

What will you be doing as Contracts Manager?

The role will be focusing on rail minor schemes, valued no higher than £1m, ranging from station refurbishments, platform resurfacing earthworks, and drainage etc.

A normal day will be split two-fold. One side of your duties focuses on the pre-construction side of the projects assessing the buildability of designs, liaising with the Design team when issues arise, and managing the programme of works. Organising and sourcing the labour supply will also be included alongside liaison with clients and senior management on the progress of the pre-construction phase.

The second part of your role will be out on site, ensuring possession/blockages coincide with the programme of works, being a presence out on site, overseeing the work while it’s being done, as well as completing paperwork (method statements/risk assessments/RAMs) and reports.
