JOB TITLE: Contracts Manager - Rail
LOCATION: South Wales
SALARY: £285 Per Day (Ltd)

THE CLIENT
My Wales based client is currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to work for them on an initial 6 month contract on a rail based project.

THE ROLE
* As Contracts Manager your day will be split between three key elements: programme planning, commercial planning and health & safety. You will work with the programme of works, ensuring all details of the schemes are laid out. Managing the weekly progress reviews regarding budgets and resource will also be at the top of your priority list.
* You will be responsible for the overall success of the projects, including the commercial elements to the scheme. If you do not have commercial experience, then this role will not be for you.
* You will monitor CVRs, expenditure, managing the process through from forecast to the end of the project.
* Health and safety will also be one of your top priorities managing the construction teams and keeping the H&S documentation up to date.

ABOUT YOU
* A professional qualification in Civil Engineering: HNC, HND, BSc, BEng
* Experience working with a main contractor on rail schemes: ideally minor works or asset management
* Platform extensions, platform gauging, Asset management, station refurbishments, station improvements, embankment repairs, retaining walls, drainage, bridges, bridge deck replacements, structural repairs, footbridges
* A technical background will be key, working up from Site Engineering and being settled within a Contracts/Framework Manager position for the last couple of years.
* Experience in using Coins, Maximo and Excel is essential
