Contracts and Claims Specialist in Mayfair, London, United Kingdom

Our client is a major operator in the mining sector and is looking for a Contracts & Claims Specialist to work on an international project and be based in Central London.
This is paying an excellent salary of £75-80,000 + excellent bonus.

They are looking for an experienced Contracts Specialist with a Claims background and infrastructure or mining/oil and gas experience.

The ideal candidate will have the following background:
At least ten year plus experience managing different types of contracts in the mining, oil and gas or heavy construction industries.
Proven track record and experience in administering/resolving large contractor claims.
Local UK and international experience required
Familiar with cost and performance audit investigations
Familiar with close-out methodology

The candidate should have great communication skills, through understanding of legal proceedings, accurate records keeping skills and exceptional planning skills.

The position is also responsible for contract close out, ensuring all deliverables (e.g. drawings, documents, data, calculations, soft/firm-ware, code, spares, import/export & shipping documents, etc) required from contractors are identified in a close-out schedule and confirmation of receipt/ownership of all deliverables (or otherwise) is obtained prior to obtaining authority to negotiate and/or formalise settlement.
Capability to undertake the close-out of individual contracts by preparation of a final account and a close-out report
Proposed final account.

Dispute procedures
FIDIC (also JCT and NEC) Contracting methodologies
Procurement of services and unit rate contracts
Cost Planning
Contract administration
Claims preparation

Qualifications:
Degree in quantity surveying, engineering or similar or equivalent work experience.
Other skills: Civil works, Mining, Project Management, Lifecycle costing.
