About the Role:
Recruiting for two Long Term Timetable Planner roles – one each in York and Manchester offices - to support the work of Timetable Planning teams. This role will assist with the development and delivery of the timetable and train diagrams for the services that they provide across the North of England each day. Led by the Timetable Planning Manager, you will be part of the team delivering compliant, robust, repeatable train paths and train unit diagrams that allows the business to deliver the high-quality daily service their customers rely upon.
You will contribute to the development and production of timetables and unit diagrams for the Long Term Plan (LTP) timetable, to achieve a robust and economic resource plan, which meets the planning criteria. In addition to the wider Service Planning team there are key interfaces with Fleet Engineering and Network Rail.
About you:
We are looking for candidates that can apply attention to detail to produce robust and resilient plans which align to our planning parameters, assess sometimes complex planning issues on the network, and manipulate available rolling stock to achieve the best passenger service all whilst ensuring compliance with industry processes.
As well exhibiting the energy, enthusiasm and resilience to drive through outcomes, you should be able to demonstrate:
Good level of secondary education to at least A-level standard, with highly developed numeracy skills. Logical thinker with an analytical approach to problem solving
Good knowledge of North railway geography
Understanding of rail operations and constraints for timetable and unit plan development ·
Ability to work to strict deadlines
Clear communicator in both verbal and written form
Knowledge of train planning IT systems is desirable
