Contract Manager Rail

A well known international consultant is looking for a rail Contract Manager to join a busy team in India on a new railway project.

The Rail Contract Manager will assist the project management unit and the projects within the SAME Division with regard to contract management, dispute resolution, claims management, project management, construction management and management of sub-contractors and sub-consultants. The position will provide advice and guidance to the PMU and the projects on all these above-mentioned matters in accordance with the provisions of FIDIC.

The position will also provide training and guidance to the national and International staff within the Company.

Key Responsibilities
†Work in a team, foster teamwork, facilitate knowledge transfer and sharing
†Review and advice on contract documents for all projects under SAME division
†Provide assistance and guidance to the projects (Team Leaders and Contract Specialists) as appropriate in accordance with FIDIC rules
†If requested by the projects, review claims submitted by the contractors and advise on how to address them
†On construction supervision projects, review IPC checking procedure and advise on improvement as appropriate
†Support projects to Check quantity for over payment in IPCs and final payments.
†Provide support to all running projects in interpretation of contracts and assist Team Leader in claim management.
†Assist in contract negotiations
†Provide training on FIDIC guidelines to national and International staff as and when required
†Contribute to the commercial success of projects and the team
†Tasks Assigned by Manager(s)

Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

†Minimum BSc in Civil Engineering or other related discipline, additional qualifications in law or contract management is preferable
†Minimum 15 years of experience in working with contracts management and FIDIC guidelines within Railway projects
†Good knowledge in contract laws, FIDIC rules and regulations, managing the contract such as payment, variation, insurance, claim, disputes.
