Working in partnership with Network Rail and alongside other major contractors, Coombes provide a whole manner of off-track services, including vegetation management, on-track plant hire, ecological support, civil engineering and fencing – all while maintaining a focus on quality, safety and efficiency.
We have seen recent significant growth as a Principal Contractor and Framework Contractor to Network Rail and are looking to recruit Arboricultural teams or individual Operatives to help us deliver on some exciting vegetation projects and provide a ‘Gold-Standard’ service that is second to none.

About the vacancies:
Following our recent successful and significant award on the Network Rail framework, we are looking for teams of experienced Vegetation Operatives, Arborists and Arborist Team Leaders. These roles will primarily involve the safe removal and clearance of vegetation and trees.

As well as sharing the ethos and values of our Company and an excellent understanding of how to work safely, candidates should have some of the following competencies:
- Recent experience as an Operative in vegetation in a railway environment
- Personal Track Safety (PTS)
- Chainsaw
- Use of Chainsaw from Rope & Harness
- Brush Cutter/Strimmer
- Chipper
- Fell and process trees
- Controller of Site Safety (COSS)
- Aerial Rescue
- Lead Climber
- Rope Access
- Site Warden
Operating across south-central England, candidates must also have a full driving licence.
Working hours: 40 hours per week.
Rate of pay: Vegetation Operatives: £90 per day. Arborists: £110 per day. Arborist Team Leaders: £130 per day. Plus ongoing support of competencies/tickets.
