Facilities & Maintenance Team Leader in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom
Samuel Knight International are working with a leading Rolling Stock specialist who are looking to add an experienced Facilities and Maintenance Team Leader to their expanding operation based in Milton Keynes
Key elements of the role include:
- Ensure team tasks are carried out on time and to the quality level expected by the FM
- Manage team time and attendance through TMS system, escalating any issues to the FM as appropriate
- Identify improvement opportunities and propose solutions to the FM
- Prepare and deliver toolbox talks to team members
- Assist mechanical and electrical fitters with bespoke duties when required
- Take disciplinary action where necessary in line with company policies
- Establish and regularly review team competence, taking appropriate action where necessary to ensure team members remain competent
- Identify skills gaps and carry out or recommend training for team members
- Ensure all work equipment is fit for purpose and request replacements where necessary
- Ensuring all team members have and use the correct PPE for all tasks
- Ensure risk assessments are in place for all activities and team members are aware of the risk assessments
- Ensure the yard team are providing all necessary support, in a professional manner, to all areas of the business
- Ensure team members adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures
- Reporting any health and safety issues to the FM
- Manage shopfloor waste stations
- Organise delivery and movement of site equipment to ensure production teams have the equipment required
- Ensure facilities tooling and equipment is always looked after and used in the correct manner
- Motivate yard team and set objectives where necessary
- Ensure all waste is segregated correctly
- Ensure all hazardous waste is disposed of safely in the correct containers
Successful candidates will possess the following experience:
- A proven track record and successful background in facilities maintenance
- Accomplished people management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous Rolling Stock experience would be a bonus
