Rail Civil & Stations Team Leader - Philippines

The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is supporting a Major International Joint Venture with an ongoing Rail/ Metro project in Philippines which is moving into the construction phase.

Opportunity:

The role shall be working for an international consultancy on behalf of the Ministry of Transport supervising the construction of all Civil & stations elements which shall include 4 construction contract packages. Each package is over $300million USD and the successful individual shall be acting as the Clients Representative.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support the Project Manager for smooth implementation of the Project.
• Lead the design team to review detailed design of architectural, MEPSF, structural and civil works including embankment, viaduct, bridge, station, depot, crossing structure, typical architectural items, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, BMS, safety system, and drainage.
• Assist the Employer in appraising bids as part of the bid evaluation process in civil packages and in evaluating of the capacity of contractors.
• Attend the periodical site inspection during construction and the defects liability period and order the contractors' actions to be taken and payment methods.
• Manage all construction supervision issues for the pertinent contract package(s) in terms of time (schedule), quality, budget, quantity, safety, contract, environment, etc.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and quarterly progress reports in a form agreed between the Employer, JICA and ADB.
• Prepare a construction completion report, which will be a compilation and condensation of the data presented in regular monthly progress reports together with copies of as-built drawings.

Key requirements for the role:

• Degree in Engineering (higher preferable)
• Around 20 years in railway/ Urban Rail project, 10+ in a similar role.
• Experience with ODA financing project
• Experience in this region or similar developing countries
• Preferably with working as Contractor background

Salary Package:

The salary on offer for this position is around $12-15,000 (NET) per month with a full package including Flights, transport, insurance, per diem.
